It all begins with an idea.
Ray aka “Vegas Ray”, is the proud Owner and Kreator of “Kreate Tattoo and Art Studio LLC” Currently, she is the FIRST and ONLY Black Female Tattoo Shop owner located on Martin Luther King BLVD in the North Las Vegas area.
Her dream as a tattoo artist started in 2019 when she began creating her art portfolio to present to tattoo shops with the hopes of securing an apprenticeship. Once she received an apprenticeship at Sin City Tattoo, she split her days as a Real Estate Agent in the morning and Tattoo Artist at night. Eventually, she would put her Real Estate license on hold and focus on tattooing full-time. While apprenticing, Ray faced a lot of adversity as a black woman in a male-dominated industry.
After a heated disagreement with my mentor, Ray was fired from her apprenticeship. Fortunately, other artists volunteered to pick up her apprenticeship and help Sha’Ray become a licensed artist. From building great relationships with the other artist, the owner was able to assign her to another mentor and sign Ray off to complete her apprenticeship. Soon after, she began building clientele with consistent marketing and offering mobile services until she settled down in a solo studio.
