Kreate Tattoos & Art Studio Aftercare Instructions

I. Introduction:

Aftercare Instructions

Congratulations on your new tattoo! To ensure the best healing results and to follow SNHD regulations, please carefully follow these aftercare instructions.

II. Initial Care:

  1. Leave the Bandage On: Your tattoo artist has covered your tattoo with a sterile

bandage or wrap. Keep it on for at least 2-4 hours after getting the tattoo.

  2. Wash Your Hands: Before touching your tattoo, make sure your hands are clean. Wash them with soap and warm water.

III. Cleaning and Hygiene:

Gently Cleanse: After removing the bandage, gently cleanse the tattooed area using mild, fragrance-free antibacterial soap and lukewarm water. Avoid using harsh soaps or scrubbing vigorously.

Pat Dry: Gently pat the tattooed area dry with a clean, lint-free cloth or paper towel. Do not rub.

Air Dry: Allow the tattoo to air dry for 10-15 minutes before applying any aftercare products.

IV. Aftercare Products:

Tattoo Ointment or Cream: Apply a thin layer of SNHD-approved tattoo ointment or cream to the tattooed area. Follow the instructions provided by your tattoo artist for the recommended product.

Avoid Petroleum Jelly: Do not use petroleum-based products, as they can suffocate the tattoo and impede the healing process.

V. Dressing and Clothing:

Loose Clothing: Wear loose-fitting, clean, and breathable clothing over your tattoo to prevent irritation.

Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight, especially during the initial healing stages. Sunscreen should be used after the tattoo is fully healed.

VI. Healing Process:

Itching and Peeling: It's normal for your tattoo to itch and peel during the healing process. Do not scratch or pick at it. Apply ointment or cream as needed to relieve itching.

Swelling and Redness: Mild swelling and redness are common and should subside within a few days. If you notice excessive swelling, redness, or signs of infection, contact your tattoo artist or a healthcare professional.

VII. General Care:
Avoid Swimming:
Refrain from swimming in pools, hot tubs, or natural bodies of water

until your tattoo is fully healed to prevent infection.

No Tanning: Do not expose your tattoo to tanning beds or prolonged sun exposure until it's fully healed.

Avoid Submerging: Avoid soaking the tattooed area in water, such as long baths or extended showers, to prevent softening the tattoo and slowing down the healing process.

VIII. Follow-Up Appointment:
Schedule a Follow-Up:
Follow your tattoo artist's recommendations for a follow-up

appointment to ensure your tattoo is healing properly.

IX. Questions or Concerns:
Contact Your Tattoo Artist:
If you have any questions or concerns about your tattoo's

healing process, contact your tattoo artist. They can provide guidance and assistance.

By following these aftercare instructions in accordance with SNHD regulations, you can help ensure that your tattoo heals beautifully and without complications. Remember that each tattoo may have unique aftercare needs, so always follow the specific instructions given to you by your tattoo artist.

If an infection or adverse reaction occurs at your procedure site, contact your personal physician for treatment and report to the Southern Nevada Health District special programs at (702) 759-0677 or bodyart@snhd.org.
